Co-op Opportunities at ONEC

As an organization committed to our corporate value of teamwork, combined with our small company feel and an understanding that life and business is all about people, providing co-op opportunities for up-and-coming talent in our industry has always been a priority at ONEC.

Over the years, we’ve worked with universities and colleges like the University of Alberta and the Northern Alberta Insitute of Technology (NAIT) to welcome students of various fields of study, looking to give them real-world work experience while benefitting from their eager attitudes and new perspectives and ideas.

Most recently, ONEC has employed two co-op students. One has recently returned to his studies; another remains on staff. While at ONEC, the students are often managed by a mentor and work with our multidiscipline engineering and construction teams to help hone their skills while supporting project deliverables at both of our Alberta locations. Here they are pictured below with long-term employee and mentor, Aaron Briscall.

Upon the completion of their terms, exit interviews are conducted with our Human Resources Department. Reeve Corbiel, the Mech Engineering Tech program student from NAIT who just completed his term at ONEC, had this to say:

“ONEC’s corporate structure is very inviting and an amazing place to work. Everyone here is always willing to help you in any way possible. It was an extreme pleasure to work with such kind, motivated, and knowledgeable individuals.”

It is our goal to provide a positive and gainful experience for co-op students, and we hope they consider us for long-term full-time positions once their education is complete. Thank you to Reeve for his effort and time during his co-op term, and we hope to hear from him again soon!
