We Design with Build in Mind

We provide engineered solutions to our clients in 2 broad areas – electrical engineering and instrumentation and control/automation. What’s more, our team of engineers and designers are well versed in multidiscipline work and construction support.

Our Work

Environmental Operations Fuzzy Filter Install

ONEC provided the detailed design for civil/structural, mechanical/piping, and electrical instrumentation and controls, procurement, demolition, and installation for a replacement fuzzy filter install. ONEC managed all IFR and IFC staged gates/milestones, implemented the temporary removal of wall panels to facilitate the removal and reinstallation of the filter, removed the existing south filter, and completed all new construction including the supply/install of the new concrete base for the new filter, the installation of the supplied fuzzy filter, reconnection of disconnects, and installation of new mechanical/piping as required.

Involvement: Multidiscipline Engineering, Field Construction

HSADF Electrical Power Export

In 2017, portions of a composting facility were closed, lowering the internal load of the facility. To ensure units continue to produce value for the facility, the client sought to re-apply under the Microgeneration Regulation, feeding the loads of the adjacent Integrated Processing and Transfer Facility, and the Materials Recovery Facility. ONEC provided electrical engineering supporting including determining interconnection requirements, load study and savings, a grant assessment, interconnection design and microgenerator application, and construction/commissioning support.

Involvement: Electrical Engineering

Solar Plants

ONEC completed detailed design as the engineers of record for two large scale solar plants located in Alberta. Both solar farms consisted of rack mounted solar panels with tracking tied to 2.5 MVA central inverters with output voltages of 600VAC. Step-up transformers converted the voltage from the central inverter to 25kV. Power was distributed at 25kV and tied into the Fortis utility system. ONEC supplied electrical design, arc flash and ground studies, coordination with the electrical utilities (Fortis and AESO), structural design, pile design and review, complete SCADA design including fabrication of SCADA cabinets, weather station design and fabrication, site surveys, design, and fabrication of MCU racks.
